This policy explains what personal data SWEETBIRDD × AURA SKIN collects when you use sweetbirdd.com or shop with us, how we use it and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we are
SWEETBIRDD × AURA SKIN (“we”, “us”) sells SWEETBIRDD perfumes and AURA SKIN skincare online at sweetbirdd.com and in our stores in Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@sweetbirdd.com or +254 743 431 155.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- Order details: the products you buy, prices, promo codes, order notes and order status.
- Account details: your email address and password if you create an account. Passwords are stored securely by our login provider — we can’t see them.
- Reviews: product ratings, comments and the display name you choose.
- Payment details: the payment status, amount and reference. Card and M-Pesa details are entered on Paystack’s secure checkout and processed by Paystack — we never see or store your full card number, CVV or PIN.
- Technical details: your approximate country (from your IP address, used only to show prices in the right currency) and your browser and device type. Your cart, wishlist and currency choice are saved in your own browser.
We don’t use advertising trackers, and we never sell your personal data.
How we use your data
- To process, deliver and support your orders — including calling or messaging you about delivery
- To take payments and prevent fraud
- To run your account, order history and reviews
- To show prices in your currency and keep the website secure and working well
- To send offers and news — only if you subscribe, and you can unsubscribe at any time
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We use your data to perform our contract with you (your orders), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving our service), with your consent (newsletter) and to comply with the law.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, with:
- Paystack — to process card, M-Pesa and other online payments
- Supabase — our secure database and account-login provider
- Vercel — our website hosting provider
- Delivery riders and couriers — your name, phone number and address, to deliver your order
- Government authorities — when the law requires it
Some of these providers store data outside Kenya. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards required by the Data Protection Act, 2019.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting laws require. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your data is used
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete false, misleading or outdated data
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including marketing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email info@sweetbirdd.com. We’ll respond as quickly as possible and within the time the law requires. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (www.odpc.go.ke).
Security
Our website uses HTTPS encryption, access to customer data is limited to authorised staff, and online payments are handled by Paystack, which is PCI-DSS certified.
Children
Our shop is not directed at children under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
